I’d be surprised to find someone doesn’t love Olivia Palermo’s style. She’s by far one of my favorite style icon’s. She has fantastic taste and puts outfits together that I’d never think would work. So today, she’s the feature of Friday’s Threads! Have a great weekend!

Putting the Pep in Peplum
One of the biggest trends for spring is peplum. Admittedly, it was only recently that I even knew what that word meant. I have a peplum style dress from JCrew that I wore to Barister’s Ball last year, but had no idea it had a name. Now that I do, I see the style everywhere and really have grown to love it. I absolutely love layered looks on pieces in general to add dimension to a regular skirt or dress, and so the peplum look is now #1 for me this season. Check out some pieces below and let me know what you think!
Gearing up for Spring
A little indoor/outdoor living to get us ready for warm weather. I’m at a loss with this fluctuating weather (today I woke up to snow on my car). Last Thursday it was 85 degrees. They’re even talking about more snow later in the week. I’m already in spring mode, and snow would really put a damper on that…with any luck it’ll be back to beach weather by next week!
On a totally unrelated note-online shopping for Club Monaco starts today! VERY dangerous for me.
I Got a Craving…
Divine Design: Spotlight on Kelly Wearstler
This weekend went all too fast. Luckily the weather wasn’t as nice as it had been and I was able to get some real work done. I also had time to browse some home goods online and came across designer, Kelly Wearstler. Her designs are whimsical and elegant….definitely one of a kind pieces that would make for a great housewarming present…or, present to yourself. xox

Friday’s Threads
Happy Friday! This week was absolutely gorgeous and I’m legitimately sad to see the super warm weather go. Nonetheless my friends and I spent a fantastic afternoon at the beach yesterday which was just what we needed to de-stress. For my Friday outfit, I’m inspired by Kathrine Heigl’s fun weekend look that says “I am ready for Spring” xox
For the Love of Marc Jacobs
With the near 80 degree temperatures we have been having here in Maine, I find myself unable to think about anything other than spring/summer clothes and what I’d like to see hanging in my closet in the next few months. A lot of what I’m loving lately comes from Marc Jacobs’ Spring collection. The look is very mod and full of fantastic shapes and colors. It’s definitely a less romantic/more whimsical look that I’m really digging for Spring this year!

Filler Up!
It took me till nearly Spring to take my vase fillers out and begin thinking about what warm weather items to replace them with. My snow and pine cone displays lasted from December to March and now I need to find something fresh and green to fill up my vases with! I love Pottery Barn’s moss filler and so I think I’ll start there and work my way up…or even try to create my own to save some money. Sea shells, sand, lavender and coral are also on my list. Photos of the finished product when they’re put together!
Bikini Season…in March?
According to the forecast, it’s going to be 80 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday here in Portland. I can only hope that I can clearly my calendar sufficiently, such that I can at least head to the beach for part of Thursday. (rough life, I know). I started thinking today that bikini season is rapidly (too rapidly) approaching. One of my new favorite looks is the one shouldered bathing suit top. I think it keeps the bathing suit look fresh, is fun for summer and keeps bikinis from looking too much like underwear.

Ooh Portland
Happy Monday! What an absolutely glorious weather weekend this was. Alex and I spent Friday inside, but Saturday I made sure to take a four mile walk around Back Bay in Portland (pictured above). We also went to see 21 Jump Street which I highly recommend and my bff from college, Abby was in town. We ALSO made delicious chocolate stout cupcakes with Bailey’s cream cheese frosting in honor of St. Patty’s Day. They were delish. Sunday was filled with taking Lucy to the park and lounging around in the 70 degree weather, which is pretty abnormal for Portland this time of year. I realized at this rate, I’ll be able to tan on the beach in April and May before bar review even begins!
This time of year makes me LOVE being in Portland….
